A lot has happened and life as we know it has taken an impressive turn. Everything has been submerged in the sea, we need oxygen tanks to function, and the houses are huge submarines divided into small apartments. It has been a hundred years since the catastrophe, the last generations do not know the surface and have only heard the legends and tales of their past antes, the little Jay is fascinated by all the stories that his grandfather told him and now not so little has proposed to know that bright world where we could walk without busts or oxygen on our backs to live.

Jay is studying biochemistry and biology at the only university in his area and has set out to get out of the sea before it is too late to know the surface, he is a tall boy, about six feet, with brown hair and honey-colored eyes, with muscles due to the daily training in the gymnasium of the school in which he is graduating with the best grades and has begun to work on his plan to escape and explore the outskirts, but the government has restricted the only source of access to information on the surface, "the laboratory", a place with a lot of security where only people with an assigned ID can enter and leave, it is full of cameras, guards and sensors.

I have decided to conquer Zamira, not only for the information I need but also for her beauty, she is the most perfect girl my eyes as seen.

Zamira always sits in the café I go to study for my final thesis, and we have exchanged a few words but nothing more. The other day I found the courage to talk to her and it worked out.

After a couple of months everything started to get weird, Jay was only interested in Zamira's work and all they did was related to this and she started to notice these actions. One day she decided to ask him about why he was so interested in her job.

Of course, Jay responded.

It is nothing babe, I just found it fascinating.

Jay was thinking how freaky out, she almost caught me, I think I should slow down with the questions and search in her apartment until she forgets this.

But Zamira was trying to look for the truth, her boyfriend was actually in love with her, or he was hiding something. The right opportunity came, and she knew it was time to look for answers.

Zamira arrived at Jay's house after work. Hey babe! I have amazing news.

Hey queen, yes, what's up?

They are doing a study at my work (the laboratory) to try a new method to resist underwater without oxygen tanks, and they are looking for volunteers and I list you.

That is fantastic, I will finally be available to know how your work is.

At this moment Zamira knew that Jay was trying to do something in the laboratory.

The next day came, and they went to Zamira's work to start the project, but after an hour or so Jay’s disappear, she looked for him everywhere until she got to the secret room, were only personal from the government has access to it, he was trying to get in. Now she was 100% sure that he was into something, and she decided to confront him

What are you doing here? Zamira asked.

I was looking for the restroom, Jay answered.

I know you didn’t get this far only for the restroom, tell me the truth right now.

He began to explain his plan to escape underwater life, and how important this was for him. He knew that he makes a mistake and how this could affect Zamira, but he was not expecting how badly she was going to react.

I cannot do this. You betray me, Zamira stated with her eyes full of tears.

Zamira proceeded to turn the emergency alarm on for the guards to come get Jay. He tried to run, but it was too late.


Oh! Zamira don’t do this to me, please!!!!

You deserved to be in jail, Jay.


After a couple of hours, the laboratory was completely close and was militaries and police everywhere, they were interrogating Zamira and she confessed everything she knew. After this they went to Jay's house, and they find all the maps, books and notes of the surface world. The have all the evidence to take him to prison and they did.

They took Jay to a maximum-security prison, and he was sentenced to life there.

Zamira could not believe what had just happened, she was really in love with him, she was planning a future for them, but now she knew that Jay had other plans for his life.

Jay sends her some letters from prison asking her to forgive him for what he did and that he loved her, but Zamira never replied to him, she was trying to continue with her life after all this.

She was promoted to manager in her job for the incredible job she did turn in Jay, she was also on the news, and they show her as a hero but none of this was important to her, her life was sad, and it took her many years to recover from this.
