Text

I stare still, facing your cruel reflection,
Goddess of that false online universe.
Your shameless smile, your flawless complexion
Deserving of that heart-shaped love; my curse.
My humanity fragments your airy frame.
My blemishes are a wall between us.
I look at you and feel I lost the game.
I pass you the crown; self-hate fills my guts.
But then a ray of reason fills my soul
Exposing your dull and empty self
Kissing my perfectly imperfect curls.
And then, with self-love, I break your royal shelf.
With a soft stroke, I send you to your grave
And take my crown back, no longer your slave.
