Stubby legs stumble along the shoreline,
Their fat chubby cheeks and few missing teeth.
Trauma from rocks simply seen as benign.
Young sweethearts sift sand for shells to bequeath.
Pools of waves on a pond ripple in time.
Skips of stones hop across the water's top.
Adolescence sparks amorous enzyme,
Yet once sight is on lock, her eyes will drop.
Gaze upon black sea, birthland of heaven.
Gaze upon your right, it's a lonely place.
Gaze upon your left, tempted replevin.
They took what you wanted, left drowning in space.
Grown-up to yearn, the unobtainable.
Endless obsession, unexplainable.
